early reflections is an inspiring introduction into the expanding ambient world of liam skogland (aka (val)liam). ambient music has always played a humble role in the electronic music scene. high levels of gratitude and respect are given to those producers that have the creativity and patience to evolve a genre plagued with periodicity. skogland is quickly on his way to becoming one of those artists. begin your adventure with "orange horizon". picture an enchanting sunrise over a calm...

Moonlight Nagara was a Project i started as [F] and then we were running it with [A] as an internet collab from september 2007 to december 2007. Our collab has ended four years ago. Now I want to run it again. So, these are the tracks we've made. Then i'll make some new asap. I have to say the end of this Project gave birth to Data Unit. As a matter of fact, my love for Japan is not brand new. François de Benedetti, May 04 2011. Cover artwork by François de Benedetti

"entia non" is the project moniker of Australian artist James McDougall. After great releases at u-cover (zero comma zero, inter alia) and test tube (distal) he comes up with his first release "sub routine" on Resting Bell. The four tracks, deeply affected by the Australian landscape (South East Queensland), are very subtle, just like putting your ears on the ground of an animated, busy grassland. Little glitches grawling around like insects, soft wind flurries playing in...

Tidal EP - Aural Surfaces When I was a child I had recurring dreams that were primarily textural, my fingertips touching various surfaces. The dreams weren't particularly pleasant, but not nightmares either. The structure of the dream consisted solely of variation in texture, and within that synaesthetic nature of dreams the experience seemed simultaneously aural. Those dreams abandoned me at age 12 or so, but a lot of my music is an attempt to recapture those textures, to plot those surfaces...

Mizati came along as a surprise treat, earlier managing to slip under many of our radars. like most of Mizati's music, these tracks are part of a live recording session and the inspiration of the moment shines through. From the opening track 'caballo' to the closing 'sediento' Mizati explores a range of styles, but manages to keep it all together. Conocer itself means 'on the road'. A theme is presented of the old west and the desert, but by no means is the sound slaved to a single...

Back in June 2015, Colin Blake released Faith on weareallghosts (waag_rel072) … it was intended to be the first in a three-part series that follows Colin’s original C60 idea - to create 30 minute slices of sci-fi ambient, slices that could easily fit on the side of a C60 cassette tape. Faith was presented as two “sides”: part 1 and part 2, both running near to 30 minutes each and featuring some delightfully mysterious ambient music. Darkly chilled electronica and an assortment of remixes make for a nice evening of listening enjoyment. About the album: mayfairgrin seeks to wrap the listener in a warm blanket of molten melodies and chilled rhythms. This is impressionistic music, existing outside of the verse-chorus-verse structures of a three-minute pop song. The music expands and blurs the boundaries between shoegaze, gothic, ambient, industrial, post-rock, and electronica. mayfairgrin has existed in various forms for the...

The debut release of off land is a marvelous collection of subdued, melancholic ambience and electronics. Things slowly start off with minimal drones, followed by shuffling beats and anomalous guitar loops, interspersed with vocal snippets. The rest flows like water, with hints of nominal piano melodies, acoustic rhythms, bells and drones sliding in and out through this elegant collection, floating off into oblivion. This is a remarkable achievement, and a stimulating listening experience.

The EP captures a much more live sound than iambicâs previous works, fusing electronic and traditional instruments together to build rich electro-acoustic textures and melodies. This EP lies somewhere between nu-jazz, post-rock and iambicâs own aurally evocative ambient style and has already received excellent feedback when performed by Guy and his live band.

earman184 - Joe McMahon - 3AM After a long time away, Joe McMahon returns to Earth Mantra with a brand new album entitled "3AM". Folks, we have a real treat in store for you today. Fans of Earth Mantra will remember Joe's magnificent 2009 Earth Mantra release "Ocean Music", a study in minimal ambience and the gray area between tonal and abstract music. Like "Ocean Music", "3AM" retains Joe's signature attention to detail and his minimal aesthetic. Unlike...

An electronic project from Latvia founded by macabro in 2006. As the time moved on the music has seen an evolution from harsher noisy sound to warm ambient atmospheres. Now he mainly experiments with drones and field recordings, along with using a huge variety of different sounds and self-made samples, such as bells, whistles, xylophones etc. The newer works might even be considered as guitar ambient, although guitar sound is fairly modified, sometimes to an unrecognizable degree. The new album...

As said on the website, it's been a moment we were thinking about it. The definition of petite&jolie is clearly in the title, we want to set a cosy place for cute music. We've been taking our time to contact artists we appreciated to be sure to deliver some lovely tunes that would definitly give the artistic line of this netlabel. So here we are with our first release named " Pantoufle Tagada ", a nice launching compilation for the sake of cuteness The cuteness will transport you...

“Unstable Lands (waag_rel087)” is the latest release from Drew Miller aka Brother Saturn. It features a deeper, more immersive electronic sound that feeds the imagination … a sound that is less drone-based and more melodic with loops playfully interacting with one another to create dense, otherworldly layers of sound. This is an album to lose yourself in … and to help you do this, each track features wonderful artwork from Smashy that will help guide your thoughts, if you want to, to...

a silent selection of ambient pieces brought to us by artists living all around europe and still having close virtual relations to bern city. giving a slight idea where this section will go in the future, every tracks slowly evolves into an imaginary wideness that can probably only be experienced travelling through the sea.

It seems like there's plenty of great electronic music coming out of Russia recently, with critical acclaim for artists such as EU and Novel23. So we're pleased to put out this EP from Russian duo Sleepy Town Manufacture, fresh from a compilation appearance on Russian label Cheburec Records, and looking to be new millenial messiahs for idm east of Berlin and west of Tokyo. So, "Miss EP" shines up a real treat, with opener "Don't You Miss Me?" hitting up wonderfully pure...
